As a collaborative hub rooted in trust and community partnership, La Pine Community Kitchen brings together local organizations, dedicated volunteers, and the individuals we serve to foster a coordinated, compassionate approach to health and well-being in our rural region.
By working side-by-side with our partners and community members, we’re building a future where access to nourishment, dignity, and essential resources is not a privilege—but a shared commitment. Every effort we make advances LPCK’s vision for a stronger, more resilient Central Oregon.
Fresh Harvest Meal Kits: Nourishing Families Through Local Collaboration
La Pine Community Kitchen (LPCK) is proud to partner with the High Desert Food & Farm Alliance (HDFFA) to offer Fresh Harvest Kits each Friday during the summer months. This collaboration is a shining example of how local farms, nonprofits, and hunger relief agencies can come together to promote food equity in rural Oregon.

What’s in a Fresh Harvest Kit?
Each ready-to-make kit includes:
🌱 Why It Matters
This program not only supports food-insecure households, it also:
- Pantry staples to round out the meal
- Farm-fresh, seasonal vegetables grown right here in Central Oregon
- Flavorful seasonings from Savory Spice
- A simple recipe, written in both English and Spanish, so that every household—regardless of background—can confidently prepare a nourishing meal
- Bolsters our rural food economy
- Reduces food waste
- Encourages healthy eating habits
- Celebrates culturally inclusive, seasonal cooking
🍽 Who It’s For
These kits are designed for community members experiencing food insecurity. Whether it’s stretching groceries between paychecks or ensuring kids are fed during the summer when school meals are unavailable, the Fresh Harvest Kits help fill that gap with dignity and nutrition.
🤝 How It Works
HDFFA works directly with regional farmers to source ingredients and assembles the kits with the support of hunger relief partners like LPCK. Every Friday, our Community Food Pantry becomes a distribution hub—connecting local harvests with local families.

Strengthening Rural Community through Partnership: LPCK × St. Vincent de Paul – La Pine
In rural communities like ours, connection is everything. That’s why La Pine Community Kitchen is proud to collaborate with St. Vincent de Paul – La Pine in a shared mission to ensure no neighbor is left behind.
Together, we’re tackling food insecurity head-on by delivering hot, nutritious meals to homebound individuals every Tuesday through Thursday. This partnership brings more than sustenance—it brings dignity, compassion, and human connection straight to the doorsteps of those who need it most.
How it Works:
🍳Meals are prepared fresh at LPCK Tuesday through Thursday
🚗St. Vincent de Paul volunteers pick up and deliver those meals to registered homebound clients
Each delivery includes a nourishing meal, a wellness check-in, and a moment of connection, reminding our neighbors they are seen and supported.
🧡Why It Matters: In rural communities, access can mean everything. Many of our neighbors live miles from the nearest store or support service, and some are unable to leave their homes at all due to illness, disability, or age. This collaboration ensures that no one falls through the cracks. By working together, LPCK and St. Vincent de Paul help reduce food insecurity, social isolation, and health risks—bringing care directly to the doorsteps of those who need it most.
🤝Who It’s For: This partnership serves homebound individuals in the greater La Pine area—residents who are elderly, chronically ill, recovering from surgery, or otherwise unable to travel to our local community pantries or meal service site. These are often community members at high risk for hunger and social disconnection.
This collaboration reflects our broader mission: to build a coordinated, compassionate network of care that uplifts and empowers rural residents. It’s just one example of how LPCK and our partners are coming together to turn empathy into action and create lasting change across Central Oregon.

Meeting Families’ Needs with Dignity and Care
Supporting Rural Families: LPCK × Diaper Bank of Central Oregon
Access to basic essentials shouldn’t depend on your zip code. That’s why La Pine Community Kitchen proudly partners with the Diaper Bank of Central Oregon—to ensure rural families have what they need to raise healthy, thriving children.
Through this ongoing collaboration, we provide free diapers and infant care items every Tuesday and Friday at LPCK, helping parents ease financial strain and access the support they deserve.
🌟 Expanding Impact Through Partnership
🤝 Our Shared Commitment
- Eases financial stress for families with young children.
